The Etruscans were totally Romanized by the year 90 BC. Their religion taught the complete submission of people to the will of superior forces. In the face of an inexplicable, incomprehensible Destiny, the only recourse was to attempt to predict, by divination, its arbitrary and erratic path.
The Etruscans left texts written in an alphabet similar to that of the Greeks, but their language was different, and, to this day, we can decipher only a few words. From their bas-reliefs, frescoes and sculptures, we can tell that Etruscans viewed sex with tolerance.
